Diocesan Music Directors’ Choir

2024 A Call for Vocalists for Upcoming Diocesan Liturgies

Dear Music Directors of the Erie Diocese,

As the Music Director at St. Peter Cathedral, it is my hope that for major Diocesan functions we may have a more collaborative musical involvement and representation from all our parishes throughout the Diocese. As a fellow music director in the Diocese of Erie, I would like to invite you to participate in two upcoming Diocesan liturgies with the Cathedral Choir. Since all of you read music and can learn the music on your own, we would only need to meet for a short time on the day of a particular diocesan liturgy. I will send out the music ahead of time to everyone electronically with notes so that you can prepare on your own.

I would like to invite the Music Directors to sing first on Monday, March 25, 2023, for the Chrism Mass (This is the Monday after Palm Sunday of Holy Week). The Chrism Mass is at 1:00PM and the Choir Call will be 11:30AM in the choir loft at St. Peter Cathedral.

The second Diocesan liturgy is the Priestly Ordination. This liturgy will be celebrated on the evening of Friday, May 24, 2023, at 7:00PM. The choir call time for that liturgy will be at 5:30PM.

It is my hope that many, if not all of you who are able to, sing. Please consider lending your voice to enrich our diocesan liturgical functions. It will be a time when we can all be together to meet, get to know one another and pray together using the gifts God has generously bestowed on all of us.

Thank you,

Corey Spacht
