Saint Peter Cathedral Welcomes You!
Has it been years since you last attended Mass? Can you remember the last time you received the Sacrament of Reconciliation? Are you new to the Erie area? Are you new to the Catholic Faith or seeking to become Catholic? Regardless of your answer to any of these questions, there is a place for you in the Saint Peter Cathedral parish community.
Followers of Jesus for many generations have joined hands and hearts in living their faith at Saint Peter Cathedral. Far from being like other American Cathedrals, ours has a parish and a life beyond the diocesan Church our Cathedral stands for.
Saint Peter Cathedral provides countless opportunities to help you and future families to discover the spiritual, social, and gospel-based ministries among us. Volunteer groups abound, and increase life-giving spirit to all who work, pray, and recreate together in the name of Jesus.
We invite you and your family to find out for yourselves that Christian life is more than a Sunday morning break from the usual world. You will be glad you did.
Receive the Sacraments
All are invited to attend and celebrate Mass at Saint Peter Cathedral. Multiple opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation are available daily. In addition to being the mother church of the Diocese of Erie, we welcome you to make Saint Peter Cathedral your spiritual home.

The Pipe Organs
The pipe organ is more than just an instrument; it is a powerful symbol of the Church itself. Just as an organ’s many pipes come together to create a harmonious sound, so too do the diverse members of the Church unite in worship. Saint Peter Cathedral is blessed with two instruments, both built by Casavant Frères of Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec.
